B.Tech (Mechanical Engg.)
Mechanical Engineering deals with the favorable application of the laws of nature at micro/macro level. At micro level, the effect of quanta of energy bundle prompts from the development of new ideas of study like nuclear fission/fusion to generation of electricity & power without destructing the eco system. At macro level, it offers the opportunity to study the material & its properties which leads to the science & art of designing prospects. At the undergraduate level, we inculcate basic fundamentals of engineering. The curriculum is designed by seeking the most recent international trends. The multipharious opportunities to a mechanical engineer includes design & thermal analysis of components, machines & power generators. The scope also includes nuclear, thermal & solar power sectors apart from metallurgy & nanotechnology. Robotics, FMS, CIIM & non-convectional machining is also found amonged the passions of Mechanical Engineering. The scope of Mechanical Engineering also includes simulation, modeling & control of plants/ processes / industries, non-destructive testing, quality control and also management in manufacturing.
B.Tech (Electronics & Communication Engg.)
The major driving force for the present day Information Technology revolution is the development in Electronics & Communication Engineering. The advancements in microelectronics, satellite and optical fibre technology, analog and digital communication techniques have resulted in developing complex electronics devices, circuits and equipments capable of implementing fast and efficient telecommunication systems. Real time transfer of audio and video signals is now possible with recent trends in broad band technologies. Penetration of innovations in electronics has now revolutionalised other areas like health care, instrumentation, automation, remote sensing, signal processing etc. Graduates in Electronics Engineering have opportunities in Government and private companies for installation, operation and maintenance of electronics equipments and systems. Defense, space and other large research organisations employ electronics engineers in design and development of complex devices and systems for signal processing and telecommunication. Industries involved in design and fabrication of devices, integrated circuits, embedded systems, electronic equipments etc also provide large scale placements for engineers with this specialization. Installation and maintenance of electronic equipments used for health care in hospitals, equipments & systems for instrumentation and control in process industries automation systems of assembly line in production industries, etc are also handled by electronics engineers.

Computer Engineering is a discipline that combines elements of both Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. They are trained in Electrical Engineering, Software design & Hardware/Software integration. Computing Professionals find themselves in a variety of environments in academia, research, industry, government, private & business organizations- analyzing problems for solutions, formulating & testing , using advanced communications or multimedia equipments or working in teams for product development. Computer professionals are looked up at for developing computers that can simulate human learning & reasoning ability through artificial intelligence. They are also expected to design computer circuits, microchips & electronic components. Designing new computer instruction sets & combined electronic or optical components to provide powerful cost effective computing is also within their ambit. Software engineers develop methods for production of software systems on time, within budget & without defects. They also apply computing & technology to solve problems outside computer fields-education or medicine. With a degree in Computer Science, You understand how software is designed, developed & delivered. The field is expected to grow by nearly 40% till 2012. Computer Science degrees are still one of the highest paid in the field of science & technology.

The IT industry has vast scope for young professionals as it facilitates employment to technical and non-technical graduates. The industry has the immense potential to generate huge foreign exchange inflows for nation. India exports software and services to approximately 95 countries in the world. By outsourcing to India, many countries get benefits in terms of labour costs and business processes. IT will continue to gain momentum; telecommmunication including wireless technologies will follow the suite. The unprecedented growth in networking technologies is expected to continue into the next decade too. IT will bring about a drastic improvement in the quality of life as it impacts application domains and global competitiveness. Technologies that are emerging are Data Warehousing and Data Mining. They involve collecting data to find patterns and testing hypothesis in normal research. Software services that are being used in outsourcing will go a long way. IT professionals perform a variety of duties that range from installing applications to designing complex computer networks and information databases. prominent fields for IT professionals include data management, networking, engineering computer hardware, database and software design. Additionally, significent scope exists in the management and administration of entire IT related systems.
