ANTI RAGGING POLICY
Ensuring a Safe and Respectful Campus at CIET
At the Camellia Institute of Educational Technology (CIET), we prioritize creating a secure, inclusive, and respectful environment for all students. Ragging, in any form, is strictly forbidden on or off campus. Maintaining a culture free from ragging is a shared responsibility of the entire CIET community, including students, parents, faculty, and staff.
CIET follows the AICTE Regulations on Curbing the Menace of Ragging in Higher Educational Institutions, 2009 with zero tolerance toward any acts of ragging. Violators, whether directly involved or abetting such behavior, will face stringent disciplinary action in accordance with institutional policies and the law.
Understanding Ragging
Ragging encompasses any behavior that demeans, harasses, or intimidates a student. As per AICTE, it includes:
- Harassment or Teasing: Using words, gestures, or actions to ridicule, humiliate, or threaten a student.
- Unlawful Demands: Compelling students to perform inappropriate, embarrassing, or uncomfortable acts.
- Disruption of Education: Interfering with a student’s academic work or routine.
- Exploitation: Forcing students to undertake personal tasks for seniors or groups.
- Financial Pressure: Coercing students into spending money unnecessarily.
- Physical Violence: Inflicting harm or engaging in acts that endanger health, including sexual misconduct.
- Verbal Abuse: Shaming or ridiculing someone in person, through emails, or on social media.
- Mental Harm: Actions that impact a student’s confidence, dignity, or psychological well-being.
Such actions not only disrupt the harmony of our institution but also violate its fundamental values of respect and integrity.
Zero Tolerance and Consequences
CIET has established an Anti-Ragging Committee and Anti-Ragging Squads to ensure a ragging-free environment. Any incident reported will be thoroughly investigated, and immediate action will be taken. If found guilty, the offender(s) may face the following penalties:
- Imposition of fines up to ₹50,000.
- Temporary suspension from academic privileges.
- Revocation of scholarships and financial benefits.
- Restrictions from exams, assessments, or competitions.
- Withholding of academic results.
- Expulsion from hostels or college premises.
- Cancellation of admission.
- Rustication for a specific duration or permanent expulsion.
- Legal action, including filing an FIR with local authorities.
In cases where individual offenders are not identified, collective accountability may be enforced to ensure discipline.
Support and Reporting
CIET encourages students to stand against ragging and support a safe learning environment. If you or someone you know experiences ragging, report it immediately to the Anti-Ragging Committee or faculty members. Confidentiality will be maintained for all complaints.
A Commitment to Respect and Safety
At CIET, we envision a campus where every student can thrive in an atmosphere of mutual respect and trust. Our anti-ragging measures reflect this commitment, ensuring a supportive and harmonious community where everyone can achieve their potential.
Together, let us build a safe and empowering environment for all.
